Upcoming Youth Events!

Mondays from July 12th - August 30th
Volunteer Opportunity at ABCD Migrant Daycare Center
10:00 am-12:00 noon - meet Tim Baker at the Center at 10:00 am

August 9th – 13th –
Volunteer opportunity with FPC Vacation Bible School. There will be a limited number of spaces available for youth volunteers at VBS. Please contact June Lee if you’re interested!

Friday August 13th –
Youth Group Camping Overnight to Godfrey’s Pond. R.S.V.P. to Erin as soon as possible if you plan on camping with us Friday night. We will spend Saturday swimming, boating, fishing, etc.

Sunday August 15th –
“Young Families” Pool Party at the Mountain’s – 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. All youth group families are welcome – please R.S.V.P. to Kelly Mountain.

Erin Schubmehl - Youth Ministry Director

Erin Schubmehl is a 2005 graduate of Ithaca College with a B.A. in English and a minor in music. She grew up attending Corfu United Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder in her junior and senior years of high school. In 2001 Erin represented the Presbytery of Genesee Valley as a Youth Advisory Delegate to the 213th General Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky. During her time at Ithaca College, Erin remained active in the Presbytery of Genesee Valley and in 2004 she served as Vice Moderator. From 2001-2005 Erin worked part-time at the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca, New York as their Children’s Music and Handbell Choir Director.

She spent the 2005-2006 academic year teaching second grade special education outside New Orleans, LA in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. While living in New Orleans Erin joined St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church, and volunteered with their junior and senior high youth groups. From August of 2006 to July of 2008 Erin served as the full time associate for Christian Education and Youth Ministry at the First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca, NY.

Erin is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education at the Warner School at the University of Rochester. She began her duties September 2009 and is looking forward to an exciting time with our Youth.

1. Mission Service:

Our youth often serve in our community to help those in need and to share the love of Christ.

2. Fellowship Activities:

Our youth have several events for fun and fellowship.

3. Faith Formation:

Our youth go on retreats and have a variety of opportunities for spiritual formation.
